Hearding Cats

Had our First basketball game. They scheduled it for 8am, which means be there at 7:30. So I had to be up at 6:30. Talk about crappy! I thought I was having a nightmare when I heard my alarm going off this morning! But on to the game.... It was pretty funny stuff. They all did very good. So I'm happy. Seems like we have a good group of kids and parents. In today's world of not hurting feelings and trying not to damage any one's fragile self esteem, they don't keep score at this level. But if you have kids and have gone through this, then you know one thing: THEY know. They know who's winning and who's losing. A couple will actually even know the EXACT score. And we won! It's a good start. Can't wait for more.

Ehhh... they do that now? How is a kid supposed to learn how to be a good loser, or a gracious winner for that matter, if they don't keep score?
Yeah, it breaks a parents heart to see their child upset because they didn't win, but isn't this all a part of the learning process? And as you said, they know anyway.

I really hate that they do that now.....like Barmy Mama said, it's such an important life lesson.

But it's good to know you had a good time and the kids enjoyed themselves....
