It became obvious to me on Sunday that I have been in California for WAY to long. See I went home for the weekend. No biggie right? Well before I left it started to get a little chilly here. And by chilly I might actually mean cold. So off I go to Lemoore where it's in the high 80's on Saturday and even on Sunday it wasn't as hot but still comfortable in shorts and a tee shirt. Which is exactly how I drove back to Nevada. It was a nice ride. Sunny all the way, right up until about the 5000 or 6000 ft mark going up to Donner Pass and it starts raining. Then eventually that turned into snow. Who would have thought it would snow in October right?
I must explain something. This place called "Lemoore" where I have lived since 1996 has 3 seasons. HOT, Fog and Rain. There is no winter to speak of. It cools off, gets foggy. Rains for a day or two. The all of a sudden it's summer and hotter than hell. So cold and snow are not really part of our normal vocabulary. So when I was driving in the ever increasing snow it dawned on me how much I am out of touch with this whole winter thing. It also dawned on me that if something happened to my car I could be in big trouble. I even forgot the coat I wanted to bring. I did have pants but nothing heavier than a tee shirt.
This winter thing might take some getting used to.

LOL....let me know if you need any "tips".......
You do know that in winter when the snow gets real bad they close those passes off, could be days before they open them back up and even then may only let people with tire chains to pass through?
Oh and we have been in the low 50's to high 40's for a couple weeks now. It's not normal for this time of the year.
